Not many people know this, but a “cupper” is a professional coffee taster. Just as with grapes and wine, we must sample coffee beans for their quality so that we know how to best roast, blend, and brew them. This formal tasting process is called “cupping”.

Cuppers is named for all those who enjoy coming here to taste our coffees.Cuppers first opened its doors in January 2006 and since then has won six awards for Best Coffee and Coffee House in the Prescott area. And of course we’re striving to maintain that status and continue serving the best you can get!

Cuppers Coffee House

• Best sandwiches
2009!
• Best bakery 2009!
• Best staff 2009!

Our Victorian home was first built in 1872 for its resident who was the owner of the Crown King Mine. This was long before Arizona became a state! It is the only structure in Arizona that remains with wooden quoins on the corners of the building.

The owner, Karen, first started in the coffee business in 1999 with her coffee cart operating in Phoenix. Prior to that, she worked in the telecommunications, travel and real estate industries. But Cuppers is her true passion…along with traveling, and adopting homeless animals. She strongly recommends every person pursue their passions in life. .
